🧗 Rock Climbing & Bouldering




  • Rakchham Mountaineering & Adventure Club (RMAC) runs guided rock‑climbing and bouldering sessions with permits, a climbing gym, and gear rentals 

  • The Sunny Side and Bear Forest climbing sectors offer ~60 routes graded 6–7 and boulders (grade 8A featured), perfect for intermediate to advanced climbers


🏕️ Trekking, Camping & Nature Walks

  • The Rakcham trek (approx. 12 km from Sangla) winds through apple orchards, pine forests, and Baspa Valley meadows — light to medium difficulty, suitable for most hiker.

  •  Rakchham ⇄ Batseri

    • Distance & Duration
      The trek is roughly 6 km one-way, taking 3–4 hours along varied terrain — pine forests, riversides, meadows,  and streams .

    • Difficulty
      Rated moderate, it involves gentle climbs, wet land occasional stream crossings, and forest trails. Suitable for fit trekkers across ages.

    • Trail Description
      You'll cross a bridge over the Baspa River, then follow a scenic riverside path, winding through woodlands and alpine meadows. Mid-journey ascents may include some muddy, wet land, Alaska point or snowy segments, especially in early season .

    • What You’ll See
      Lush deodar and pine forests, wildflower-dotted meadows, wet land,Alaska Point,glacial streams, and glimpses of Batseri village—a charming settlement with historic temples and beautiful apricot blossoms during spring

    •  Rakchham to Chitkul

      • Distance & Duration
        The trek covers approximately 10 km one-way, following the Baspa River valley. Expect 2–4 hours of trekking, depending on pace and stops 

      • Elevation & Terrain
        Rakchham is at ~3,050 m and Chitkul at ~3,450 m. The trail winds through pine and deodar forests, meadows, glacial streams, and the wildlife sanctuary area .

      • Difficulty
        Rated moderate. The path is well-defined with gentle ascents, occasional rocky sections, and possible stream crossings. Fitness and basic trail experience are recommended .

      • Rakchham to Ratya Kanda

        • Distance & Duration
          The trek covers approximately 14 km one-way, following the Baspa River valley. Expect 6–8 hours of trekking, depending on pace and stops 

        • Elevation & Terrain
          Rakchham is at ~3,050 m and Ratya at ~4,000 m. The trail winds through pine , deodar  and Boj patter forests, meadows, glacial streams, and the wildlife sanctuary area .

        • Difficulty
          Rated moderate. The path is well-defined with gentle ascents, occasional rocky sections, and possible stream crossings. Fitness and basic trail experience are recommended .

  • Numerous trails along the riverbanks and through forests offer serene nature walks and hiking opportunities 


🌊 River Activities: Rafting, Angling & River Crossing

  • River rafting on the Baspa River with moderate rapids suits both beginners and veterans .

  • River crossing (via rope , basic lines, Jula) and angling are also popular adventure options.


🧗‍♂️ Rappelling / Abseiling

  • There are so many Camps , RAMC and The Himalayantaskars  offer rappelling, rock climbing, river crossing, and day hikes.
